Hi, I'm Rick, from the Northwest. I have been an admirer of photography for quite a few years and have always mulled over getting a DSLR but never actually made the leap.
I mainly like photos of landscapes, un-posed war photography and un-posed pictures of people just going about their business. I prefer pictures where people are not posing as I think it captures a moment naturally. When it comes to people I particularly like old pictures of people which are not posed for or which were not necessarily taken by someone 'good' at taking photo's as I think these can capture moments well too. I also feel less manly for writing what I just have... ha
I am here to lurk initially as I am not sure what camera to go for. I am saving for a house deposit right now so I don't really have that much cash. I've been recommended the Canon EOS 450D, it reads like its a good camera, a lot of nice reviews but my wallet seems quite aggressive when I come close to buying one. I think I would like a Canon, but I'll post in the 'ask a stupid question' forum as I've written so much that nobodies going to make it this far... I know I would have lost interest right about n......
