Hello there, I am new to the world of photography and thought it would be a good idea to join a forum with like minded people.

I have taken my wife's Nikon out for a spin today and am looking to get a Sony A65 or A77 with Minolta 70-210 and / or Minolta 50 f1.4. Any advice would be greatly received..... and appreciated. Thanks

Any views on second hand bodies / lenses would be great.

Welcome to TP Adam,

I use SONY and have both the a65 and a77 ( I also have an a99 full frame) Plenty of lens choices for the Sony A Mount too, the crop sensor on the a65 and a77 is great, I personally would start with the a77 buy the best you can afford is my advice new or 2nd hand

Sony do a nice 50mm f1.4 (I have one) love this lens, I don't own a 70-210 but have a look at the Sony 70-200mm f2.8 is a cracking lens and has the benefit of a wide (f2.8) aperture so great for low light and blurring the BG

Look at the SIGMA range of lenses too- I own several and they are good quality lenses
