I'm a complete beginner at this, and I'm here to learn from the wisdom of the assembled masses.
Being retired I'm finding myself with a bit of time on my hands. I have dabbled with snapping on my phone and previously with a cheap digital camera.
I am starting out by going back to basics with a couple of cheap analogue 35mm cameras - maybe not the most obvious way to go, but I'm quite 'excited' by the prospect of learning to carefully compose real photographs rather than just clicking away!

Hi Mike, I'll join the welcome to TP, which is the best photography forum I've come across. I see you've also popped up in F&C which is the best and friendliest part of TP. I'm sure you'll get plenty of help and support, whether you're moving further into film or into more sophisticated digital cameras. I'm retired too, and find photography an increasingly consuming passion; no spark of genius but I plod along and sometimes get something right! So, enjoy the journey!
