Hi,

I'm Claire,

I've just joined for some advice please ...

I've just finished my Masters in Biological Photography and Imaging at the University of Nottingham

I am looking to become self employed, taking photos of peoples pets, specializing in dogs and also doing agility photography at dog shows too.

I currently live in rented accommodation and on my contract it says I cannot use the property for business use.. However, the only time I will use it for business use is for editing and admin stuff. I won't be having clients at my home just having an online gallery where they can purchase images etc.

So I was wondering if this would still count as business use?... If it does, I'll have to contact the landlord to see if the contract can be changed.

I have a part-time job so I still have some income, will this have a negative affect on my tax and NI?...

Hi and welcome to TP Claire.
I would approach your Landlord and explain exactly what part of the Business would be conducted on the premises and he may consent to the use.
