Hi everyone,

I've had an interest in photography for a few years now but for one reason or another it always got pushed to the back burner. I recently bought my first DSLR a Canon 550D with 18mm-50mm lens, I have a tripod and Corkin ND4 filter. Anyhow, that's my equipment I just got to figure out how to use it! :)

I have tried some landscapes, sunsets and a little astro photography (WF shots and some EP projection through my telescope). I also quite like silhouettes.

So although I'm not a complete beginner, I'm lacking direction and am not sure what to do next. I'd like to build on what I have to improve my photography skills. I'd also appreciate honest critique as I've no idea how good or bad my results are. These are a couple of my recent shots. Hope it's ok to post links like this here.

Hi Carol and welcome to TP :wave:

There's some nice pics in there, you seem to have a eye for what will make a pleasing photograph. The lead in lines with the sand are strong for example.

As you seem to have the basics nailed, I look forward to seeing you around :thumbs:
 
Thank you for the welcome, It's been a busy week, so far so I've not had much time to meander round the forums.
