Hi folks

My name is Alan Sheward and im in Birmingham UK , i`m 55 years old and wanting to take my photography more seriously.

Ive just orderd a Canon D6 and Canon EF 24-70mm f4 L IS USM Lens as my above water equipment , i am already an underwater photographer and am saving for the case etc to take this baby down with me.

I have slowly become more facinated with photography due to my diving adventures and am now ready to take the jump up(all be it nervously)into the DSLR realms, i have a Canon S90 at the moment.

I know the equipment ive orderd is well above me and probably will be for quite a while.

Anyhow i hope to read and post more and increase my knowledge base.

Hi Alan and welcome to TP.

Don't worry, I'm sure that you'll soon get the hang of the DSLR and there are plenty of helpers on hand to get you on your way.
I do like underwater photography and it's definitely not an easy field, so quite excited at the prospect of seeing some of your shots.
