hi all quick little introduction
had a little cheap compact maybe 9-10 years ago used it for about 20 pictures and went in a drawer
had some friends comment for years on the lack of quality with my phone pictures of things so decided 3 months ago to do something about it.
i went out and didn't want to spend much so got myself a Polaroid ix5038 bridge camera 50x zoom 20mp and i suddenly noticed i started taking loads of pictures
i soon noticed that it was lacking in quality and was too slow i.e. when i pressed the shutter button it could take up to 1 second before it even took the picture.
after chatting with a couple of online friends a month ago i got myself a Nikon D7000 and Sigma 18-250mm lens and hoya uv filter i then bought a manfrotto backpack bag for it.
very soon after the mrs had been out with me as well and decided she did not like the polaroid so i bought her a cheap Nikon D3100 with Nikon 18-55mm kit lens.
over the last few days we have been on the cliffs and beaches etc. and i have realised i do not have enough reach for a lot of the pictures i want and the mrs was also having the same problem with her 18-55.
the quick instant cure is i am giving her my Sigma 18-250mm lens and have bought a cheap tamron 70-300 lens as i dont mind swapping and she does.
the reason for the purchase was simply due to funds as christmas is not a cheap time of year
now in the new year i am going to save up and get a better lens i am tempted by the Sigma 50-500mm (OS version not the cheaper non OS one)
also after saying to myself i was not going to spend fortunes on it as it's just a little hobby for me and the mrs to pop out and have a walk and take some snaps i am now also looking at getting the D500 in the new year
anyway that's me and my situation sorry if i have whittled on a little
p.s. i am just starting to play with RAW mode too
