Well, not a kid really, I'm an old codger, but I still manage to get around on me old pins.
I bought my first camera when I was 20, a Praktica Nova, and have been taking pics ever since. Went digital firstly in 2000 with the purchase of two Olympus 3030Zs for a project in Egypt - I fly them from a kite to get aerial photographs, and finally replaced my trusty Rollei 6006 medium format outfit when decent Canon digital SLRs became "affordable". I'd never go back to film now. I prefer the smaller sensor dSLRs because of their smaller body size which makes them much more portable - much better for an ageing back like mine.
I'm a retired Dispensing Optician, so have quite a good grasp of optical theory. I now work part-time in a shop specialising in binoculars and telescopes.
I must admit, this forum is a LOT better than some of the other photography forums I've visited, a good mix of experienced and beginners without the elitist attitudes that I've come across on some of the others.
