Hi, hope to spend lots of time here, I am completely new to photography so will be asking lots of questions. Basically my son is a child model and I pay £50 a month to have his photo's updated professionally, which isn't bad but it soon adds up and I haven't been happy with the last two shoots. I have started looking at camera's but not really sure have been to the usual photography shops, but they just confused me :thinking: I can get fantastic pictures on my home camera but they are poor quality, also photos need to be shot on a white seemless background, something I dont have :D However was thinking maybe some white vinyl would work? Only need 2x3m maybe? I dont work, I am a full time mum and photography would be something I can really get my teeth into, I dont expect to make money, I just hope to be able to capture some really nice pictures.

Hello Donna and welcome,
First of all Donna,As you have a son that's a model you could easily branch off into child portraits for friends etc and make a bit of money too.

The one thing I'll tell you not to do is go cheap on equipment to get the shots you want you'll need some decent lighting lit and maybe a few different backgrounds,After you've put in an initial lump sum it should be relatively costless from then on,Bar printhing and new bits for your pc to transfer images etc
