OK OK, I'm originally from Beverley in Yorkshire, recently moved out here with my Aussie bird.

As many others I'm sure, I've been meaning to join a photography forum for years but somehow never got round to it! Moving out here has meant I need to build a whole new set of contacts, but it also made me think about keeping in touch with the UK photography scene, so here I am!

I photograph a range of random stuff, having spent a lot of time in dark, dingy studios, but my main passion is sports photography. I've joined you guys to hopefully be inspired and share my own work too.

Anyone ever worked in photography in Aus?

Anyway, hello! Please feel free to browse my website, constructive criticism is always welcomed.

G'day!

Hi from a fellow queenslander! Though I'm no longer in Brisbane having moved to Cairns late last year.

If you like motorsport photography duck out to queensland raceway or lakeside raceway on the weekends :-)

I'm more of a nature/bird/wildlife snapper and haven't worked in photography though!

Welcome and see you round.

Queenslander! Hello! Thanks for the tips! Never photographed motor sport so that sounds fun! I'm heading up to Magnetic Island in a few weeks, any wild life spots there I should check out? Do you use any good Aussie forums too?

Hi Steven :welcome: to the forum

If you find a decent Australian forum please let me know! This one is the best I've found yet.

Never been to magnetic island unfortunately, but this might help? http://www.whatsonmagneticisland.com.au/flora-and-fauna

I can recommend heading West to Mt french (especially at night to the small lookout), alma park zoo is actually really good for a small zoo. The botanic gardens at Mt cootha have an amazing selection of birds, insects and flowers, just avoid it on the weekends/public holidays as it gets too busy to see much - the colder the better too (& the view at the lookout up there is breathtaking), utilise the City Ferries (they're free) to hop around the inner city. Umm, lakeside is better for closer shots of cars racing unless you use a big lens.

Welcome to the forums Steven, I live near Leeds which is very near to Beverly/York area. Good to have you as a member.(y)

Hi Steven, And welcome aboard TP, looking forward to hearing from you and maybe seeing some of your images on the various forums. "Enjoy".
