Yes
Hi all new here registered today seems like a nice community. Well ive just bought a Canon 300D an it takes some great pics, i was wondering if there are any online shops that will let me upload some pics then they print them off and deliver them to my door via post.

just wondering as some of the pictures i have are different sizes and some have been messed around with photoshop so there not in the first origional state. not sure if this would matter or not though.

also another question, would it be worth investing in a half decent printer to maybe print some of my pics out? bubble or lazer or are there other types of printers these days? long time since i was at college

anyway hope to hear from 1 or 2 replies and thanks.

Mark

In a word ... Yes with no problem at all ... most here recommend Photobox !

http://www.photobox.co.uk/

I have used them and they are real quick with good quality prints. Do some good deals too ... !

Their site will normally give you guidance on what size files to forward etc., !

Try them ...

As for printer ... personal choice but a lot of members don't bother with on-line facilities being so good ! Inkjet printers are the normal budget type with Epson and Canon doing the better photo type units ... try looking in PC World if you want one and then order the model of your choice from the web - plenty of better suppliers to choose from there !

Oh ... and a big :welcome: to the TP forums !

Can recommend Canon Pixma iPxxxx series - I have an A4 one and its excellent. For anything A4 and below I print myself, for anything bigger I use Photobox.co.uk and have been pleased with the results

I second all of the above.

photobox is brilliant...

but if you do fancy printing your own it is great fun. i use an epson r200 or a canon pixma MP500 which is an all in one thing. the prints from the canon are the better of the two for sure, but then it is a more expensive unit :)

i got an epson r320. Amazing quality all for aouund £110

never tried photobox, but i hear its very good. they've been going for quite a while too.

Oh and welcome :welcome:

:D

I've got a Pixma iP6600D and it's excellent (as far as I can tell...).

Printing at home is fun, but costly if you use the manufacturers inks, which you should, mostly for reasons of fade resistance and colour calibration!

I use an epson r220 which produces grand prints up to a4, just doesn't have the fancy stuff like memory card slots and little lcd's that are on the 300 series. Other than that, they are fundamentally the same device.

I guess it depends on the volume of stuff you're looking to produce. For occasional use, home printing is fine, but as the volumes increase it becomes more economical to use a service like photobox.

hth?

If you look in suppliers thread, there is an offer on at trueprint I think for a penny a 6x4 print, might be worth giving it a wirl to see the results, therefore you've not spent too much cash in the process. HTH

Sorry finished on the 1-6-06, but keep an eye on this section always bargins every week.
