Another newbie looking to buy some secondhand equipment to get started.
I like motorsport and hiking, and look to start a photography hobby to tie in with both.

Welcome Phil. Others will doubtless be along with loads of advice! For myself, I'd recommend looking at Olympus and Panasonic "micro four-thirds" kit, being more modestly priced and lighter/smaller to carry. A lot will depend on the budget you have in mind though, to give people a steer on what to recommend.
