As the title suggests, Hi all my name is George and I have been an alcoholic for 12 year, OOPS Sorry that's the other forum.
I class myself as a beginner of over 30 years, dabbling in photography Canon AE 1, Olympus XA2, Minolta Dynax, Pentax SFXn, Canon Ixus, Canon 350D, Canon 1D Mk II N, currently a Canon 5D III
I have not concentrated on photography all of the time, as work, family commitments (kids) and just life in general eats into your time.
It is nice to find a good UK based forum, as I have been on POTN for a few years, but that is mainly US based.

I have just checked and I joined in 2006, see what I mean, where has all that time gone.
I would like to get up to my 30 posts, as I am always looking to trade up my gear, and forums have always been the best and safest place to do this
I was on imageshack, but refuse to pay for it, so at the moment I have a free flickr.
I have never been into imaging software in a big way, but I would like to start to learn a little more. I built myself a little PC last year when XP died, AMD Ryzen 5 3400 3.7 GHZ, so now using windows 10, and managed to load my copy of Adobe Elements 6.0.
I was into motorcycling for years, but I gave it up due to shoulder problems, I did run a little website about our trips. www.rtrider.co.uk but since I had a Mac update, I lost the use of iWeb and have not been bothered to get it sorted.
Now I enjoy visiting airfields mainly military, taking a few snaps, and radio scanning to hear what's going on. I was in the army for 9 years, 17/21 Lancers, then 30 years in the forklift industry, and getting made redundant last Sept.
really looking forward to being a useful member and having some good banter,
