Ok, having been lurking and reading for a while I thought it was time I introduced myself. I'm Ian, late forties, was heavily into film when I was younger, Olympus OM2N etc. then just went point and shoot. Got my first digital in 2000, the original Canon Ixus, bought a Canon 300D and then upgraded to a 30D. I was mainly interested in landscapes, buildings, animals etc. but with age bringing more confidence I have started branching out into people as well these days 
I've tried my hand at a lot of different types of photography, wildlife, macro, flash etc. I'll give most things a go 
Anyway, that's me in a nutshell, I've enjoyed reading the explanations from those with much more experience than me and shall do what little I can to help those few with less than me (not many of them then)
