Hi all,

You wouldn't think it because I'm not such a young person, but this I'm really nervous about using a forum. Maybe it's just my age is something that I tend to be a bit protective, Although I have been a member of the forum from 2011 but not actually posted before.

Would like to get to know a few people on here to seek advice, I have been doing photography for a good 30 years, on and off in between having children raising a family and now having grandchildren.

So hello all hope I can be a valued member of this forum.

Pat.

Welcome Patrick good to have you as a member with 30yrs experience you can probably learn us all a few things.:) You will soon get the hang of things here, it's simple really, ask a question or give advice, we really are a friendly bunch.:welcome:

Hi Steve, many thanks for the welcome, I live in Rochester Kent am looking forward to having a chat with lots of different people. I have lots of different experiences with photography, but my current passion is location portraiture. I have over the years, cobbled together suitable equipment to use on location, I'm especially looking for artists who have a studio/workshops or a interesting location to practice lighting a whole scene including the artists themselves.

I am sure I will learn a great deal from being a member of TP.

Once again thanks for the welcome.

Pat.

sounds like a professional LURKER to me lads! :P
I look forward seeing some of your work.
everyone here is fairly polite and constructive... and the admins do a good job of keeping things civilised.
welcome out of the shadows :)

Welcome Pat. Looking forward to seeing you around the place.

Thank you Nick
welcome,

Matt, yes you could say I'm a professional LURKER however does that not mean that I am paid, and I'm certainly not paid to be a LURKER.

It's nice to be out in the open, look forward to speaking to everybody.

Many thanks.

Chris, thank you very much for the warm welcome, I'm sure we will speak again.

Pat.

Welcome Patrick

Hi Mandy,Sara and all, thank you so much for the warm welcome.

This is the first time I have posted a picture on a forum so forgive me if I got it wrong but I thought I would share one of the greater things in my life a picture of View attachment 11058 my grandson Charlie. Hope you enjoy the picture please do critique any comments are welcome.

Here goes

Well Done Pat,
Foums are nothing to be frightened of... I'm new here too, they are a great source of learning and at the end of the day what can happen? Someone criticise your work / postings??
Like i always say when i run training at work "There's no such thing as a stupid question". At the end of the day its excellent to have somewhere to post your images where you can get unbias, constructive critique from like minded people with a common interest (we all want to take better pictures).
I'm glad you have made the leap into posting and look at that Image!! brillent!

Well done and welcome from another New poster here
All the best
Steve

PS lovely looking lad, how did you keep him still long enought to take the shot, or are the Handcuffs out of shot???:)

Steve, many thanks for the nice comments regarding the photograph, yes not easy taking pictures children can be so difficult to take such good photographs of, but I was lucky he looked straight at me and I managed to snap that one amongst two dozen other shots that were blurry and completely useless. I well it's worth keep trying when somebody gives you nice comments about your pictures.

Welcome to you, I like your saying you have put at the bottom of your post about the expert, that's one I haven't heard in a long time. A good friend of mine who worked with for some time is to say I'm not a drip.

Thanks again for the nice comments hopefully I'll have some fun talking to others, there's always something to learn no matter how long you've been doing it.

All the best Pat.
