Hi all,
I'm Trish, based in Ireland. I'm a musician/music teacher, and I also do a lot of painting (Equestrian/Music based) and am involved in a lot of Equestrian sports... as such I have a lot of time on my hands so decided it would be a good idea to take up photography
After a somewhat frustrating period using a FujiFilm Finepix S1500 (suffering from serious lens/camera envy at events) I got my first DSLR a few months ago; a Canon 500D complete with the 18-55mm kit lens and a Chinon 28mm f/2.8. I then acquired a Hanimar 135mm f/2.8 and a Vivitar 400mm f/5.6 from various relatives, and was given a Canon EF 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS and a Sigma 135-400mm f/4-5.6 as birthday/christmas gifts.
My main focus for photography, or so I hope, is equestrian pursuits but I'm contemplating taking a selection of equipment on tours and seeing what I can do music-wise at festivals... there's always a lot of free time on tour! I'm even more clueless about music photography though - to me it seems much more complex with weird lighting etc.
Anyway, I have plenty of questions for the relevant forum sections! All advice very gratefully received
