One newbie question can you upload pictures directly from your computer?

"In answer to your question I'm not sure but I believe you can, most people upload via Flickr. Somebody will almost certainly be along to answer your question more fully"
 
I'm on instagram if you can transfer photos from there?

You can indeed upload straight from the pc. There is a size limit, 1024 on the longest side and a maximum size of 500kb (y)
 
Norkie silly question I'm sure but where is the up load button?
