Hi all,
just a quick post to introduce myself. I've fairly recently taken more of an interest in photography after needing to improve from the usual point and shoot snapshots affair to be able to shoot the photos for my Brother-in-laws wedding.
It also gave me an excuse to buy a DSLR and with my modest budget I purchased a Nikon D40 with kit lenses. Also bought an SB600 flash and cheap tripod along with Scott Kelby books to help me through the wedding shoot.

All went well (imho) and I'm now hooked on photography having recently bought a Sigma 10-20mm lens and 18-200mm OS lens. Also bought a Nikon D70 body second hand so my wife and I can go out on shoots together as she was a keen amateur photographer many moons ago.
I found this site looking for opinions on tripods and ballheads as this will be my last purchase for awhile, she who must be obeyed has finally called a halt to the spending fury, and quite rightly.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning a lot from you all, and hopefully as I pick up things to helping out others.
