Hero or coward?

Hero for me, don't know what your seeing!

Looks like he tried to push her but couldn't, so he had to swing around and pull her instead. Happened very fast.

Two over used overly emotive borderline meaningless words.

He reacted instinctively in a fraction of a second.

That's it.
Absolutely agree with this, in those situations it is just human instinct kicking in, I'd also agree that the "Hero" word is massive overused, especially in the workplace in certain sectors.

If you look at the stills from the video the car has already passed by the time he is pulling her away. As the car passes he is standing behind her and she is the same distance from the kerb as she was when they were walking along.

Handy that someone with a handheld device happened to be standing in a safe place, recording an unremarkable street at the perfect time!
Cynical? Me?

Looking on the road behind the couple, as they are walking. There is a strange haze or fuzziness, looks as they video has been messed with. Possibly two video joined together. Just something about the video that does not look right, or maybe it is just me.

The person on the phone is filming the CCTV playback, you can see the date stamp top right.

IF this is genuine (and I very much suspect it isn't) then I doubt he'd have time to think about hiding behind the girl, and in any case she couldn't possibly provide protection from a car travelling at speed like that. Neither hero nor villan, so much as just a guy with slightly inadequate reflexes for this situation.

Looks like she got in his way as he jumped to safety, nothing that anyone here wouldn’t have done?
