Would do the job but I've heard the triple processor is basically a quad but with a core disabled or something so it's cheaper than the quad but the performance isn't as good as a Core2Duo Pentium which can be had at roughly the same price.

Shop around, for 600 quid you'll easily get an Intel Core 2 Duo Spec PC.
These CPU's p*** over anything AMD currently produce and they are worth every penny.
Also, don't rule out smaller companies who produce their own bespoke PC systems.
A lot of these smaller companies actually produce better spec boxes for the same money that the likes of HP, Dell etc churn out.

Otherwise I would suggest giving me a call and I would spec you system inc a 2 year rtb warranty.

I recommend getting a Dell with XP Pro as your OS.
You could try Dell Outlet as well but you generally need to luck early in the morning to get the best choice and deals. You may have to try for several days if you can wait that long.
