I have been doing macro photography for a while now and have learnt alot. I have been asked to do some portraits, I have bought some lighting and back grounds, but if I am honest a few pointers would be fantastic

Too broad a question, Karl. Pointers on exactly what? What kind of portraits?
 
Hi Karl,

nothing like jumping in at the deep end! Try to obtain a local camera club telephone number and ask for some help, or the name of someone local who could spend an hour helping you out. It's far easier to have 'hands on' practical help than trying to absorb messages on TP. A good idea to state where you are located and what lights you have bought, as local Togs may jump in to help you. Good luck.
