Hi, I bought a second hand Elinchrom lighting kit with 2 400w lights and a skyport. The skyport does not have a foot as all those I see on internet have - its just a little box with a sync cord place (that is missing!) What do I need to buy to get my system working? (I am nervous to buy a sync cord and then the set up still does not work.) Anyone with knowledge on this rype of Skyport?

Are you sure its a transmitter, and not a transceiver? I'm sure the transmitter should have a hot shoe mount to fit in on the camera, but the transceiver doesn't.

Suggest contact your local Elinchrom dealer, or email TheFlashCentre (UK distributors and retailer). Send them a snap of the actual items you have.

There are a few different Skyport versions, from separate transmitter and receiver units to built-in receivers. It's not clear what you've got or what you need.

Alternatively, you could simply bypass the whole Skyport thing with say a Yongnuo RF-602 trigger set - probably cheaper, works fine. Make sure it comes with the right cable to plug into the head.

I have a Yongnuo RF 600 TX. I tried using this and still have another issue then. I put main part onto my camera and the sync wire and the part that fits onto it, into the sync socket on the light - then what am I supposed to do with the other part? The light that the wire is in works, but I thought that the one would trigger both lights so I set up my studio and only the light with the wire is triggered. Is this normal. I feel such a moron.

Switch on the slave to the second light and that will then fire in sync. It's the button with an 'eye' symbol. Did you get a handbook with the Elinchroms?
