Advice please...!

I am just about to send of a few hundred client images to be printed.

Fortunately i printed an image yesterday and noticed, it had not dawned on me that the sensor shape has changed. The 6x4 i printed has white lines down each size i guess this is a crop issue.

Does this mean that i have to go through and crop all of the images i need to print.

I have
6x4
7x5
8x6
9x6
10x8
12x8

and some larger sizes as well.

Will i have to resize them all, or just the 6x4, 9x6 and 12x8.

Confused...!

Any print that doesn't match the aspect ratio of your sensor will need to be cropped to avoid white lines.

The sensor of a non FF Canon has a ratio of 3:2, so can be printed on 6:4, 9:6, 12:8 etc without cropping. Not sure what the aspect ratio of a full frame sensor is.

What camera are you using?

To the best of my knowledge, the D700 has a sensor size of 36mm x 23.9mm. Barring the smallest fraction, this is as close to 3:2 ratio as makes no difference.

You should be able to print on 6x4, 9x6 and 12x8 (and multiples thereof) without having to crop your image, and without suffering white borders along the edges of your prints.

If this is happening then there must be something else going on. Are you resizing your images before printing and, if so, are you maintaining the aspect ratio when you do so? Is there something that your print software might be doing to the image before sending it to the printer?

Off the top of my head, it's difficult to imagine what might be causing you the problems you are experiencing. If you were printing solely on 7X5 and 10X8, which do not match the aspect ratio of your sensor, I could understand, but you shouldn't be having problems with the other sizes you mention.

That is why I am confussed!! The White stripes are not massive only a few mm but they are there and were also on a 12x8.

When I clicked zoom to fit in lightroom it made it fit but cropped top and bottom slightly!

Ds colour lab have started listing a 6x4.5 full frame print but only that size not the 9x6 or 12x8 that would also have the problem!!!

Looks like I am resizing 200+ images in ps this evening!!

Very strange. Can you not record an action to batch re-size your images? Save an awful lot of time compared to having to do them all by hand.

Re: wedding photography.
Ok thanks I will give it a go!!

How will the automate decide where to crop or will i be able to drag the crop area around???
