Hi, I am new to this forum so HI EVERYONE!

Right ok, I have a new Nikon D60, a light box and 2 x lamps. Everytime i try and take an image its dark, i have moved the lamps, filtered the light etc, tried macro setting, iso 100??? just guess work really. Some shots come out ok but others not so. Can someone please give me some advice as to what settings are best for the shot i'm after, assuming the lighting is correct.

Any advice on the d60 settings for optimum quality of hairdressing scissors would be highly appreciated.:)

Put the camera into A mode on the mode-dial, turn all the lamps on, make sure your camera is steady on a tripod/pillow/book/etc. Put the camera into timer mode so when you press the button it will take the picture a few seconds later. Use manual focus to get focussing exact.

Put your camera into f/8 (just twist the dial bit until you see f/8 on your screen) and press the button. Should work okay.

Hi and :welcome: to TP

The best thing to do is have a read at the book, Light: Science and Magic, here's a link to a preview of it, if you scroll through to about page 30 and read about the family of angles, it should hopefully help

bloody hell thanks for the rapid response...going home now after a 14 hour day but will experiment tommorrow.

Thank you Again
