Help with Hair!

As strange as title may seem.....

I am struggling to pick out the hair in this example. Where the hair meets the skin I would like to lift it as a layer... Am I being daft and just missing something obvious. My normal selection methods just arent working for me. Am tearing my own hair out...

You need to soften the edges with refine edge then use the various options there, done very quickly I'm afraid as I'm snowed under with work.

I had a quick play - very similar to the video. I think you might need to bring some detail back into the top of her head as that does not look right at the moment so the wispy bits there can be included as well
