Help with Fuji FinePix F50

Newbie in need of some help. Sorry if it's not phrased correctly.
Anyone know how to activate the suppressed flash on the above camera. On Sunday it was deactivated itself/or was inunvertantly turned off. I now cannot reactivate it.
 
On the rear of the camera is a little flash symbol next to one of the buttons. with the camera on and picture taking mode, press this button until the flash symbol on screen changes.

It is most likely to be flash with a circle round it at the moment.
