Right all

Next Friday I have a gig i'm quite looking forward to (for artistic purposes of course), photographing the girls netball team at my uni for a (semi) nude calender.

In accepting this job i really didn't think lighting equipment through. The venue is a sports hall, luckily there is some natural light. However i will need to use flash. I have one off camera flash and a tripod. yeap thats it!

Now my question is, is there anything i can purchase for (very) little cash or make myself (im thinking some sort of reflector type thing) to produce some flattering flash diffusion for the ladies.

thanks

Russ

Depends what your budget is really??

You could just buy a 5in1 reflector and then just bounce the natty lighting onto the subject.

OR

If you have more money buy some flashes and white umbrella's.

How much you looking to spend?

That Should be Fun!!!!

I agree with the reflector but also try and bouce the flash of a wall to soften the light.

Show us the results when you have done them if you are allowed.

5 in one reflector? How much am i looking at for that?? Do i just fire the flash into the reflector. Excuse my ignorance this really isn't my thing!

Budget is pretty much nothing maby £20 I have no cash!

£20 should buy you one. For boucing the flash off the wall you just need to turn the head so it is facing the wall or into a reflector.

Right, i'm ok with the standard flash bounce techniques just none of this reflector stuff. Ill ebay it now and have a look!

either that, or check out hire shops for portable lighting equipment or chance of hiring some more flashguns

Why not tell us where you are and maybe somebody might help you with some equipment/time/hands on help.
