Help with Canon 1 dx mk 2 files

Just upgraded to the Canon 1 dx mk2 , still have 7d mk2.
Just taken photos on raw files like I have many times before but lightroom 5 cannot open them so I took some with the same card in the 7d and lr5 will open them .Can anyone shed some light on this .
Just noticed any size jpeg is fine just seems to be raw?

its a diff raw format i think there is a update for it if not it convert them to tiff and go it that way

Lr is up to date ,just raw files jpegs are fine,will open in canon dpp4

Have you update cameraRAW though? Often that is a different update to LR/PS in general

Lr5 5.7 doesn't support 1dx mk2 raw ! I dont want to pay each month for cc can lr be bought on a disc?
Raw is on 7.1

It doesn't support the 1Dx2 raw files and there's no intention to update it. Adobe 'froze' the standalone versions and will only add new converters if and when there's a complete update...ie, Lightroom 7.
