I have adobe photoshop 7 and am frustated some of my pics I would like to convert to sepia or B&W. I have not found a way of doing this and end up in windows photo gallery doing it every time. But it lacks the quality. I am struggling with every aspect of photoshop to be honest with myself.

Please help.

Have you tried the Photoshop help pages ?

I'm not at all familar with Photoshop 7 so cant really help

Adobe Classroom in a Book for 7 will tell you everything you need to know, with 7 being well out of date I would imagine the book would be pretty reasonable price wise. Also check this site as these kind of conversions can be done with 7 and these filters and its a free download too.

Hi, I just tried the update but didn't make any difference it was all there anyway. There has to be an easier way. Also tried the free download and computer won't allow it.
Thanks anyway guys

So you have optikverve on your computer then? Am not sure what you meant by update too as the programme link was for a full download? Books always work for me though as I can always check back when I forget how things are done!

A quick down and dirty way for sepia.
Image/ajustment/hue saturation set hue to about 32-ish and click the colourise box, ajust saturation to suit.
For B+W try image ajustment chanel mixer, click the monochome box, and play around with the sliders, try and keep the total to 100% though, or you can get odd effects.

Cheers for that guys will give it a go when kids have gone to bed.

Look through the channels to see which will convert to B/W best. Copy and paste it.

Then adjust the colour balance to + red, + yellow.... about 20 each way works best but its down to what you like
