New some help with a purchase of a telephoto lens.
Looking at either the canon 55-250 stm new or Tamron 70-300 VC or canon 70-200 f4 s/h
Now I know the f4 is pro lens as such, but is old tech now and lacks the IS/ VC of the other 2 and slightly less focal range of the 3. So I'm torn between the 3 mentioned.. I have looked at a few reviews of all lenses online, and depending on was reviewing them, they seemed to favour the tamron, but not at 300mm. What I'm wondering is, with the canon f4, is it going to be that much of issue not having the IS/VR, and with the lower focal length struggle filling the frame, I know I can use a 1.4 converter to give a little extra focal length, but will loose some light so will maybe not be ideal for fast sport if I'm far aware or if bad light when out and about. How do both autofocus systems compare to each other. Will be put on a 80d body. Don't need it for video work as already have that covered.
Mainly used for zoo visits. Bit of Sunday football (kids) and maybe a bit of Moto x
