HELP What compact?

A guy at work is looking to spend around £150 on a digital compact. Do any of you know of any suggestions, I found a Ricoh R4 in black, 6mp, 7.1 optical zoom (eqiv. 28mm-20mm) 2.5 inch screen. £179.99 down from £249.99. @ Jessops. Any thoughts on this one?

Don't forget about all the other stuff he'll need to buy, memory cards, batteries etc.

There aren't that many bad cameras out there (if any). Simply put them in your hand and usually the one that feels best will be the one that produces results you more than happy with. Just make sure it has the resolution to cover the print size you require.

Just re-read your request.... hmmm. Must pay more attention...

Get him to have a hold of them in the shop.
