Hi All,
I am fairly new to creating images rather than just taking them and I have decided to throw myself into the deep end and learn as I go. I have read and understand (to a point) the basic principles and feel that I need to start taking some images that I have ideas for and learning from getting the right or wrong.
So, I have an idea in which I want to create an image which includes some coke cans on the floor (ideally in the dirt in a park). The shot would be taken so that the cans are probably in the bottom left of the image (complying with the rule of thirds). Behind it will be a blurred out (aperture to be tested) part of the park, ideally with a street lamp lighting the background path or grass area. So, done at night, late evening.
I would like avoid any glare off the cans shiny surface, but also to create a kind of lit area around the cans. I want to avoid to heavy a shadow on the cans or created from the cans. So, I think I will need diffused light source to remove the glare, but have it the right size for the total area I want lit.
Ideally, the cans and the immediate floor/dirt around them will be light with the light falling/blending in with the background light (whatever that is) as you go further into the image.
Ok, I appreciate that I've not put a lot of info hear, I can see what I want in my head, so please, if you are willing to help, ask me questions to help you give me some advise. The idea is for me to learn by doing.
In terms of equipment, I have a good range of stuff available to me thought mates etc, nothing super amazing, but in terms of speedlites, other stobes, softboxes, umbrellas (white, sliver, gold, shoot through), etc so any ideas you can suggest I could probably borrow kit for.
Thanking you in advance.
Matt
