Yes
I got red wine on a white shirt, thought it would wash out but it didn't.

Any ideas? is there a stain devil for red wine?

I think there is a stain devil for it yeah. Theres one for everything these days.

Might be just easier to get a new shirt though.

Vanish does the trick on our table cloth Steep ...

HTH ... ;)

:p

If you've already washed it ..... ohh ohh

Since its white you can always bleach it.

Also try Vanish/OXY wotsit.. thats quite good. Stick thingy that you rub on.

Pour white wine over the stain(excuse to open another bottle) or try a baking soda paste left on the stain for a few hours then wash as normal.

God! I'm starting to sound like my grandmother.

Jill just said if it is washed and a stubborn one try Milton (baby bottle bleach stuff ...) ... in increasing strengths until it goes ... :D

Must be a favourite shirt to go to all that trouble though ...

:p

It's a work shirt, uniform thingy or I wouldn't bother. So I'll use a mixture of Vanish/milton/baking soda and white wine. If the shirt doesn't disolve it should be clean right? :)

Thanks folks I'd best go shopping...

THIS might help - an idiots guide (not saying you are an idiot :) )

Bl**Ping Bleep Bleep... that is a real numpties guide... Even shows you that you'll need a kettle, bowl and spoon... explicit statments... :runaway: :gag:

.... and "handy hints"..... :runaway: :exit:

Shaving Foam will remove it. A decent quality one though!

Carl.

PS...Advice from our Garment Technologist at work!

Wool was traditionally bleached using urine - you get a clean shirt and make a statement against work.

 and ty Carl :)

Dunno m8, still got it soaking in bicarb.

bicarb?????? Honestly ;)

heh, well it's not gone completely but I think the shaving foam did the best with it, cheers Carls' Garment Technologist :)

Well ... I suppose the question's gotta be asked ... dumb or not ... how did you manage to waste it there in the first place ...

:p

Hmm. I'm also trying to remove a wine stain on a white shirt. Soaked it. Washed it. But now there's an ugly greyish patch. I'll try the shaving foam.

Should have sucked it out while it was still wet - wasting booze?

Salt on the stain might still work, but it should have been soaked in cold salt water to begin with. Hot water 'fixes' many staining agents like blood, which should always be soaked cold.
Try soaking it in old white wine (one I've not tried but heard of) or white vinegar (which gets rid of almost anything known or manufactured by man) it might work.
