I bought a 40D today but I cannot upload RAW images onto Elements 4:shake:. It works fine, as it always has done, with RAW pics from my 350D along with Jpegs from the 40D. None of the 40D RAWs will upload. They all show on the screen in the 'get photos' function and it runs through the process but at the last minute when it usually tells you they have been sucessfully uploaded, I get a dialogue box stating 'the file is damaged or is a format that cannot be included in the organizer.' This is repeated for every picture. I have tried different CF cards and get the same result each time:bonk::bonk:.

Is there something basic I am failing to do in order to get the software to accept them?

Had this with CS2 when I upgraded to the 40D, you need the latest Camera Raw from Adobe if it works with Elements 4

Thanks for taking the time to reply. How do I get that, is it an upgrade download or separate software altogether.

Take a look here Link, you will need to check yor exact version

I have tried about 10 downloads from Adobe but none of them work:shrug::shrug:

i had the same problem, you need to convert them in ddp or dpp that came with your camera, then you can open them into elements.

Whats that then? Would I be just as well getting a newer version of Elements or CS3?

Think I have solved the problem. Downloaded a 30 day trial version of Elements 6 and the RAW files upload no probs. Think I'll go ahead and buy it, unless anyone advises otherwise. Cheers for the help again:thumbs::thumbs:

i thought there was a problem but when i put the newer disc in all was fine..

Yeh, I did that but it made no difference to Elements 4, it still didn't recognise the 40D RAW files, though I could use them on the Canon software.

I'm quite impressed with the look of Elements 6, and having use 4 for a few years now I'm fairly familiar with the basics so I think I'll buy 6 and crack on with that. Cheers:thumbs:
