Yes
I recently brought a 6d but I'm having trouble opening the raw files in elements10 acr and cs2 (keeps saying wrong type of file) yet they will open on Lightroom 5 and elements12
Any ideas I would be most gratefull

Thanks Mickey

have you tried reinstalling Elements 10 or seeing if there is an upgrade for it? if elements 10 and 12 are being used on the same computer there might be conflict. Next I would delete 12 as per in program removal and see if 10 then works

I think the camera is too new for cs2 and there's no raw updates for it.
You need cs5 or newer I believe

That's the joy of software, old software is unable to open files from cameras that didn't exist when it was released.

There's a limited no of updates but generally you'll need software brought out after your camera.

Are you running the most up to date version of ACR on that software?
I'm not sure, i updated elements 10 yesterday hoping that would sort it out but no luck
I'm not that great at this sort of stuff

12 is a trial version that came with camera , I only loaded it on computer to see if it would let me open the raw files
The problem was there before I loaded 12 on PC
Ill try taking both of and then reloading 10 and see if that works

Thanks for your help

don't forget to do a proper delete vis the program go into help then deactivate in the drop down list before deleting

failing all else right mouse click over RAW photo and in the dropdown lost go to" open with" and find elements. That should open the picture in Elements 10
