We checked this today and find there is no parking at the ground for the international tomorrow and no park and ride in the area. Any tips as to where we can park? It looks like a residential area and the nearest station is Montpellier. Any help would be very welcome. Thanks

There are no great parking facilities in that area, getting anywhere near will mean being early and searching for a spot ... there will be spots but possibly not very close to the ground. Montpelier Station is a stones throw away from the main Gloucester Road bus route with a short walk to the ground but IIRC there won't be parking at the station, to get close will be a matter of chance, otherwise bus/taxi.

Thanks Gramps. When you say bus / taxi, where would you get one of these from? And also, how early is early - we are travelling from Herefordshire. Thanks again

On reflection it's Sunday so you may find parking along Station Road, Montpelier (near Calumet & Montpelier Railway Station) or on parts of Gloucester Road. A bus or taxi from roughly opposite Station Road would work and IIRC there is a taxi office almost on the corner of Station Road. You could also try the industrial site where Calumet are, you may find it possible to park there as it's a Sunday if premises are closed.
Early is somewhat irrelevant for residential streets as being Sunday parked cars don't move quite so quickly.

Looks like Calumet are closed Sunday.

Thanks again. :ty:

Just noticed (Google Streetview) that Station Road has ticket machine parking now and I don't know what the limits are (likely free on Sunday but I can't say for sure) but there is a small amount of kerb parking on the estate opposite Calumet's unitt. If it was me I might ring Calumet Bristol and asked if they minded me parking on their forecourt tomorrow so that I can photograph the match. :)

Hi again. Just found this and looked them up straight away (we've been out and, after having been grid locked in the ASDA car park in Hereford due to faulty traffic lights) we have then had to prepare for the decorators on Monday. They are closed now and tomorrow. Thanks for this though; we're going to get up at silly o clock and see if we can find a space near the ground and if not head towards that station. I understand that they haven't got a car park but not to have arranged some sort of park and ride seems a bit unhelpful for an international match. I suspect we won't opt to visit this ground again if it turns out to be a complete pain.. thanks

For the largest matches including International games, we operate park and ride facilities. All international ticket purchasers will receive information regarding the park and ride facilities in their ticket pack, which is sent out prior to the match day.

Didn't you get that?

Sadly Bristol isn't very innovative in making it easy to attract visitors to the city :(

Hi again. Just been out to a friend's concert. No.. having looked at it, it seems to be only for men's intnationals that they make this effort. so not "all" at all. . My wife has just checked the envelope again and it just refers us to the website. Tomorrow is women's Eng v Australia so I suppose that is why they are not bothering to do this. I really dislike the feeling that we have about this. I had a knee op at the end of October so walking miles on hard roads isn't something I volunteer for and taxis at a station on a Sunday morning - I'm guessing there aren't that many. Disappointing. Thanks again for your help though. Forewarned and all that. ;)

You've undoubtedly already left but there will be buses and an abundance of taxis, using either will not require too much walking ... anyway hope you find somewhere convenient and have a great day after all. :)

We are having breakfast in a great cafe having parked on the road just around the corner from the entrance so THANK YOU very big for your help. I guess we would need to be even earlier for men's match. Weather currently fine; its all good. :D:banana::clap::ty:

Glad to hear it, have a great day ... and post some photos! :D

Hi well, it was a grea finish to the game so very pleased we went. I didn't bring my big kit as I thought they wouldn't let it in even though their own conditions say that it's ok for personal use. He started to ask questions about my Oly so it was probably the right thing to do. Anyway very enjoyable and England won, 3 runs, down to the last ball. So thanks again.
