Can any one help with this one

I have CS2 and since getting a D300 and now a D700 I cannot open any raws in CS2 :bang: ..

According to Adobe's raw list :

http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=106&platform=Windows

The lastest version of their raw plug in I can use to add CS2 is version 3.7

.. every thing after that up to version 4.6 is for CS3 and does not work in CS2 ( i have tried ) now there is versions 5.1 and 5.2 for CS4 only .. how do I upgrade the CS2 raw plug in to work with my D300/700 raw files

Do I have to upgrade to CS3 ? this is driving me nuts :bonk:

Thanks for any help

Simon

Unfortunately you either need CS3 to be able to use a newer version of the raw files your D300/D700 creates or you can use Adobes DNG converter to convert the raw files to DNG which you CAN then use with CS2 - Its available from their website

Yes, it is the Adobe way of getting you to buy their latest software which seems annoying, but makes sense as someone has to pay for the upgrades. I think you've got three choices:

1. Upgrade to CS3
2. Use the adobe DNG converter (as Barlines has already suggested)
3. Use some other RAW converter to create TIFFs (or something else). There are some opensource/freeware ones kicking around such as: http://www.rawtherapee.com/

Now, if Adobe could just sort out their pricing, but don't get me started on that one :D
