help needed!

hello to all, i'm nicola and new to this forum and photography. could do with some help from those in the know.

I am buying a new camera. i'll be using it to photograph insects very close up and those in flight.

I have no idea on what specification i'll need for the job. can any one help? :shrug:

please please please help me.

the jessops guy has told me any SLR manual will do the job! is he right or just after a sale? can you please help.

Welcome to the forums

i see you have very sensibly posted your question in the right section and have some replies already. The 'in flight' bit is the difficult one. A DSLR will do it but you will need a macro lens that costs nearly as much as the camera and probably a flash gun too. I leave the detailed replies to others.

Also look in the macro section of the site and you will see how good those giving the advice are!
