Help needed converting raw images

I'm using Lightroom to organise my images and want to convert my raw files down to a reasonable JPEG size, but I'm not sure what size to do. I mainly view on my computer but still want the option to print some, they're never going to be printed bigger than A3. I know how to convert them but I'm confused.
So my questions are..Do I use RGB or SRG? And what size diamentions do I use?
 
Just use RGB and resize them to something like 6 or 8 megapixels, files that size are free to store on Google Photos so if you install the uploader and have it monitor the folder where you save your exports to you will get free unlimited backup too :)
 
You will receive lots of advice regarding colour spaces and sizes, etc. Perhaps you already understand the Lightroom process, in which case I apologise for stating the obvious. Please note that you do not "convert" raw files in Lightroom. You must export them to apply your edits to get the jpeg you require. The original raw files remain unchanged. Therefore you always have the option to go back and re-export your raw file if you wish to print it, using different criteria for the export settings. Lightroom does not degrade your original images when you alter your editing which you have applied to the original raw file. As long as you don't trash your original raw files, they will be there for future use. I rarely if ever trash my original raw files. Hope this helps!

I think Peter has given you a good explanation of how Lightroom works. If you just want to view on you computer then I would set up a simple export pre-set. Set it to give the longest dimension to about 2,000 pixels. Use sRB as you output colour space. Select a location, say a folder called processed images as the destination. You can then put the processed images there so you can view them on the computer. You can use the sub-folder option in the destination option to seperate the pictures further.

I don't think you should change the pixel size of your images ... the default setting for most (all?) RAW converters will create a Jpeg from any image without changing the dinensions, and the resulting Jpeg will be a much smaller file in terms of megabytes anyway.
 
FWIW

When I shot as favour to old family friends their ruby wedding party I processed in LR and created jpegs in two pixel sizes (a) for printing 12x8 and (b) for email friendly usage

I do not see it as one fits all, you must export (output) the files to suit the intended purpose.
