Please someone help me, it can be any topic apart from structures or buildings as this was my last 2 units of work, i need to do a presentaton on 1st July based around a chosen photographer of my choice. It must last 5 mins and be informative but not boring! I also have to find a way to get the audience involved so that they dont fall asleep! Any info would really help as i dont have much time to prepare! Thanks in advance! :)

Don McCullen or Robert Frank.

Plenty to talk about those two. Don McCullen's photography is enough to keep anyone awake.

Search for the two names, since it's your homework I'm not going to do it for you.

Try googling Ansel Adams or Henri Cartier-Bresson. Can't go wrong there - both about as famous as photographers go. Loads of info about them to be found online.

matt Sayle?

You could use the photos from the wheres wally/Matt Sayle thread :D

What about Bob Carlos Clarke. Plenty to write about him, before you even start with his photos. Nobody would be board either.

Man Ray - fantastic.

He was an American who moved to France in 1920, originally an artist, did alot of surrealism, become very famous for portaits of stars, moved to Hollywood in 1940 in fear of his life as he was a Jew and France was being invaded by Germany - you get the picture. He invented the Rayograph (photopaper, putting objects on it and exposing it to light)...He started the craze of blast solarisation (turning the light on for a second or something while in the dark room to get a dark line effect around the subject).

Have a look at Brazilian Photographer Sebastião Salgado. His images are awesome, if you like photo journalism?
