I've a canon i990 printer and I've suffered with this ever since I tried Jet Tec inks.

I know - my own fault.

Is there anything I can do to make adjustments or calibrate to offset this effect.
It's driving me mad. I've tried looking at colour management for the printer but can't see any way to make adjustments but have no experience in this area so probably missing something.

Any help or advice appreciated.

Get a printer profile done and it will solve your problem

I take it youve been through the print option box and set the relevent boxes

Not really, I've had a general nose round but can't find anything I dare mess with.
I've no experience at all when it comes to this.

Err - can you hold my hand and walk me through it a bit please :)

there is onlya a limited amount you can do in windows, without a profile.

But go to printer preferences, if using gloss paper use pro setting (custom) set at number 2
then colour adjustment to manual set .... enable ICM (dont tick) then set print type to none .

Ok have a go now. if your using photoshop allow it to set colour not printer
