Yes
I have a WordPress.com blog which I decided I now want to host on my own website.

I started by installing WordPress to a subdomain and which worked fine and my original blog was still OK.

I then read that for seo purposes it would be better to have it installed in a subdirectory. So I deleted what I had done and stated again.

That's working fine.

But now when I go to my old WordPress hosted blog, it redirects to the subdomain I created with an error message and I can't access my content!

How can I get this back as I need to migrate my old content.

Yeah I read that before. My understanding was that relates to redirecting traffic from a WordPress.com site to your own site.

You should still be able to export the content from the WordPress.com blog and upload it to the new domain.

As far as I am aware I haven't done anything to effect the old blog, but I guess I have messed something up along the way.
I don't know why visiting my old blog would now redirect to a defunct subdomain?

Come on now, that would have been the smart thing to do. :bonk:

I have sorted it now. I had set up the redirect thing that WordPress offers to the subdomain I had set up.
I then changed my mind, deleted the subdomain and reinstalled to a subdirectory.
But I forgot to cancel the redirect, so when I went to my old blog it was trying to redirect me to the subdomain I just deleted. :whistling:

So, cancelled the redirect, got back onto my old blog and successfully copied over all my content.

The new blog is now at
http://www.photographerinessex.com/blog/just going through the process of sorting out the appearance and making it integrate with the rest of my site.
All I am having trouble with now is how to get the same menu buttons as per the other pages of my site on to the top of the blog page.
