Hi,
Just wondered if someone can offer some help, were getting married in august and had a meeting with our photographer, who asked if theres anything we'd like doing, other than the normal stuff. So i said i would like HDR of the outside of the church. He said he doesnt do them but woud take the photos that we need and let me manipulate them. (were getting all the pics he takes on a cd)
So what do i need off him to be able to do this?

Thanks

Says he doesn't do them or can't do them? If you are paying for him to do your photos then he should try and accomodate your requests.

From the sounds of it there not really his thing. And for the price were getting its not worth causing the fuss. just thought it would be nice.
not knowing much about HDR how would he need to do the 3? pics so we can turn them into HDR

Pete Carr's HDR guide is a good place to look to understand the basics - http://www.vanilladays.com/hdr-guide/

You dont always need 3 shots, you can get just as good results from 1 shot (in my opinion) but for 1 it really should be a raw so you can take 3 exposures from it, with a jpeg it will become quite noisy and not as effective....so if he is only giving you Jpegs then you will probably need 3 (preferably shot on a tripod so they align perfectly) if he is offering you the RAW then you should be ok from 1 well exposed RAW file :)

True but if someone does not use a certain technique then I think he/she has made the correct choice in saying that they couldn't/wouldn't do it. Weddings are stressful enough to photograph without having to worry about new techniques & methods of processing. It may be that he/she does not have access to a resource such as here & doesn't want to write cheques he can't cash - honest of them imo.

If you can get the RAW files then you'll be sorted - there's always someone here that can give you a hand to get the results you want

Have to say I agree here. I'm a fan of HDR used sparingly and in the right circumstances, but I think it's in danger of being overused though, and seems a bit of a current fad. I know some pros who won't go near it, but each to their own I guess.

Yeah he's just starting his business up hence the cheep price, but the wedding photos we have seen from him are spot on.
the HDR thing was just a thing for me. He said he would take the pics that i need and let me do the proccessing for them. so i ll be asking for help in august lol :)
