Hey guys.

I've taken this shot of our little Shih Tzu puppy and need a little guidance removing a blade of grass that he had to the right of his mouth.
I am using Photoshop Elements 12 - I have had an attempt at removing it with the spot healing brush but as you can see it is still very noticeable.

Any help would me hugely appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm no expert, but here you are... Not sure why spot healing didn't work for you. In lightroom this took about 4 seconds!

Did you have the opacity of the brush (or the adjustment layer) set to 100%?

As it looks faded but not removed. :)

don't think you'll ever get it perfect with spot healing as there's too many crossing patterns and heal will blend in the current colours which can make it look fuzzy.I'd use either the clone brush, a very small regular brush sampling colours to recreate the hairs else the patch tool. This was a quick attempt, used patch to get rid of grass on his left and then clone brush to touch up eye and two other lines below his mouth which looked like more grass.

***edit*** forgot to add when using the patch tool it can make the edges of the patch a bit soft, you can get round this by patching with a larger area than you need and the using a mask and a soft black brush to blend the edges back in.... and also if using the clone brush paint your brush strokes in the direction of the hairs you are keeping to stop it going blurry.
