Hi Guys

Wondered if anyone can be any help setting up color matching with a Canon MP550

Up till now I have always had an Epson printer at home for test prints and basic printing, but as it has now given up the ghost I have ended up with a Canon MP550 unit

On the epson the colour matching settings were simple, but am really struggling with this Canon, have a Red Bias on everything and cannot for the life of me get into what I would consider to be colour settings to control this bias,

Any help or if anyone has knowlege of this system, as coming from Epson its all alien this one!

Cheers

Hi, I had the same problem but a quick chat to Canon solved the problem.
Un-install your driver, download a new driver from their website support and install.

Is this very red or more of a subtle cast? Initially (on an ip4850) I was getting a slight red/pink cast. Reducing the magenta output to around -6 in the manual colour adjustment dialogue solved it.

the canon print dialogue box is shockingly bad compared to epson - real pain to explain.

My old laptop was connected to my Canon MP640R Pixma printer so that I could print from anywhere but now that laptop is not working well so I bought another laptop. I don't know how to connect this to the printer. I forgot how I did it last time but I have no CD or anything. Does anyone know what I could do?

Might help if you could explain how you're printing - in other words from what program and what colour management strategy you're using.

If you print from a colour managed program e.g Photoshop and use the correct printer/paper profiles, you shouldn't have to tweak any printer setting - other than to turn of colour management.
