Help. Color Efex Pro 4 issue

I am having a problem with the preview window of Color efex 4 pro. I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 and since installing the software it has this problem upon startup of CEP4 in Photoshop elements 10.

When I open a photo with CEP4 it immediately breaks the image up into 12 square sections and appears to add a different filter effect to each square making the image look abstract and unusable. This happens automatically and without me doing anything apart from opening the software. Clicking on any of the filters just changes the appearance of the 12 boxes.

I uninstalled the software and reinstalled and it worked fine again for 5 minutes and then the same problem happened and is again unuseable.

Have emailed Nik software and awaiting a response but thought I would see if anyone knows a fix for this? Here is what it looks like...

Wow, I'd be interested to see what happens if you click ok or change the preview size.

I sometimes get a similar thing with CEP4 and CS5, usually after quite a bit of editing of different images, i have a memory leak and i put it down to it running out of memory, i reboot CS5 and it's fine again for a while, i've only got 4gb of RAM though.
