Hi, welcome from Lincolnshire. I am very much an amateur, taking photos on holidays and when I am out and about.

I have been lucky in recent years to go to some amazing places on holiday mainly to see wildlife and landscapes, including Alaska, Canada, number of US national parks and Japan. I have taken photos on my iPhone, and whilst they are OK I am often disappointed. I have an old Nikon P900 which I do not really use, as to be honest not sure on how to use the features. Well I have now decided that I will make the time to learn to use this more and hopefully learn to take better photos.

Loving looking at the forum and more importantly some of your amazing pictures.

Do any of your recommend best way to learn about the camera features, already looking at internet and watching videos on YouTube, as well as just clicking and seeing what happens.

Hi and welcome to TP

In regard to learning.,....
As we all learn best in different ways I would not recommend but I suggest you start by downloading the user manual to inform of the controls and handling of the P900

Then at your own pace experiment with the picture taking and what the individual images look like when viewed on your computer.

For example taking note of the aperture used and it's effect on Depth of Field

For example the effect of shutter speed choice when shooting at maximum zoom length and getting pictures without camera shake causing out of focus images. Or with faster moving subjects etc.

Yes, online resources can be an aid..,.....but the biggest learning happens as you use the camera and learn how to compensate for any user errors :)

HTH and all the best with taking your photography further (y)
