I live in Marple, near Stockport (for my sins!) I have been tinkering around the edges of photography for way too long and thought it time to actually learn more about it. So in the last year I have managed to purloin some canon gear and now I have taken the plunge into madness and bout a Mamiya 645 that takes................film! I plan to develop it myself and scan the negs so I get the best of both worlds. I may be mad but hopefully it will be fun. Either that or I'll end up with a basement full of chemicals!

I also recently completeted the first digital photography course run by the OU. I'd like to do more formal qualifications but the day job gets in the way! So I have been trying to do some one day seminars to learn from the pros. I also read (too much) when I should be taking more photos!

So that's me, hope to be able to contribute a little and learn a lot!:popcorn:

Im also new to this forum.I live in manchester and likewise my passion is in photography,have left it for too long,just got a Canon 400D and happy snapping. A lot to learn and also photoshop. I also have problem of finding a photography course in evenings as I do day job but I think there is a photographer starting a photography course in manchester in the evenings soon for 8 weeks. I tried a long distance course too but it is not the same as someone showing you .Gud luk with ur new gear:)
