Hi everyone,i've joined this forum for a bit of advice.I'm looking for a camera that will do a little bit of everything,i've searched the net and watched reviews on youtube. To be honest i've found it all a little bit confusing as i'm completely clueless.
I want a camera mainly for using when i'm fishing.

In the past i've used a SLR and a compact digital, both had major faults when it came to doing self take portraits while i was holding a fish.
Firstly, with the SLR,which i used with a remote shutter release,i never knew how the picture had turned out until i had the film developed and more often than not i was disappointed.
Secondly, with the compact digital,i could only use a self timer which would inevitably go off just as the fish started wriggling.
There was also the other alternative of getting one of my mates to take the pic but they seemed completely useless when it came to capturing the desired image by either chopping off my head, chopping off the fishes tail or standing too far away from me and getting all the background in aswell.

In fact the only half decent pics were the ones i'd taken myself,,,of other peoples fish.
So what kind of camera am i looking for?
What i want is a decent camera between £300 and £400,,one with a flip screen that i can point towards myself so i can see what i'm doing.I would also like one with a remote shutter release port but this isn't too important as i could buy a bulb release and bracket.
On top of this it would have to be a good all rounder, macro, movie mode, decent zoom etc..
So far the cameras that have caught my eye are the Canon sx1 IS and the Canon sx20 IS but am open to suggestions..
Once i get my dream camera i might be able to smile, knowing that a decent piture is being taken,,,,cheers

You've come to the right place for this - one member here takes photos for some of the monthly Fishing magazines...

hi gavin
something fishy about those shots...:D

since you have a purpose for your photography you should find it all worth while

canon powershot i/s 5 has a reversable viewer for self portraits...you will need a tripod as well

or this one which i just found out about...

canon sx
