Hi, I'm Dave, been having a look at your site for a couple days and it looks great.I've been taking pictures for quite a few years now, but only as a happy snapper, I was and suppose I still am using a Nikon 8700 which is great for good general shots but I tend to take loads n loads of pics of my Golden Retriever, trying to get some action shots became a bit of a pain because it is so slow, so I went and treated myself to the D200 which is absolutely awesome, currently using the lenses off my F70, question is, are the digitaly optimized lenses that much better ??

Dave.

Welcome to the forums Dave. Enjoy your stay :)
DO lenses are better, how much though and whether or not it's worth it for yourself is down to personal judgement.
I personally don't understand all these technical charts that compare lenses. I just say "Does it take a good photo or not". And thats enough for me usually :D

Thanks, think I could do with a "try before you buy deal" but I'm in no hurry at the moment.

Hiya Dave

I used to use an old 70-200 manual lens on the fuji s2 I used to own.
It gave me some cracking results.
What lenses are you using with the d200?

I'm using a 28 - 80 and a 70 - 300 lenses, don't tend to use the big lens very often, both are auto focus. The results so far off both lenses are OK but I wouldn't like to think that such an expensive camera is being let down by the lens.
